3 modes of pet transport
All our trips are accompanied, except if it is impossible due to airline restrictions (Weight >45 kg. and some dog breads)
Shared pet transport
Our agents travel with your animals and another one from another client. Maximum 4 animals per companion. If you pick up at the airport there is no waiting time. Home delivery must be considered, it is not included.
All customers must agree on the date of travel and there is no home delivery, only to the airport of destination.
Combined pet transport
Our agent only transports your animals, and on the return flight travels with the animals of another client. You may need to change the date of your trip by one or two days. More economical than an exclusive trip.
The date of travel may differ by 1 or 2 days from the date you wish, we can deliver/collect to your home, but the date is set by us.
Exclusive pet transport
Our agent travels the day you want, at home, taking only your animals. A TOP service where we only work for you, but at a slightly higher cost.

What animals do we transport to Spain from Washington?
Our international pet transport service to Spain is limited, at this moment, to the shipment of domestic animals: dogs and cats.
Dogs
From small dogs, like Chihuahua, to big dogs, like saint bernard dog or bobtail.
Cats
Normal cats and brachicephalic, like Persian or Birmanian
Rodents
Sometimes we can manage the transport of rodents. Consult with our experts.
Birds
At this moment we don’t transport birds.
Horses
At this moment we don’t transport horses.
Reptiles
At this moment we don’t transport reptiles.
Aquatic animals
At this moment we don’t transport aquatic animals.
Restictions for the transport of pets to Spain from Washington
Before collecting the necessary documentation to proceed with the transport of our pets, we must take into account some restrictions:
- Dogs, cats and ferrets less than 3 months old cannot be moved to Spain. They need to have Rabies Vaccine 3 weeks prior to the trip.
- All animals must have a Antibody Serology Blood Tests 90 days prior the trip. Exceptions: Canadá, USA, México, Argentina, Chile and all intra European Union countries.
Requirements for the carriage of pets in the cabin
It will be allowed to send pets by plane where the animal travels in the cabin as long as someone accompanies the animal during the flight. It is the cheapest way to transport your pet. But if you do not have this possibility or the airline does not allow the shipment of pets in the cabin, the pet will be transported in the hold.
Airlines that allow pet travel by plane inside their cabin will normally only accept those animals whose weight is around 8 kg including the weight of the pet carrier, except for the guide dogs which are always allowed. Those who exceed the allowed weight (including pet carrier) must travel in the hold.
The acceptance of the animal on board, as well as the acceptance of the transport measures, will always depend on the prior authorization of the airline itself.
Requirements for shipment of animals in cargo hold
If your pet travels in the plane’s hold due to its characteristics, maybe it will be necessary to hire the services of a cargo agent. In Relopet we work with freight agents at each airport to guarantee your pet’s trip by plane.
The number of pet carriers that can be transported on the same flight as well as their dimensions, is limited by the type of aircraft and by the internal regulations of the airline itself. In general, two animals of different species (dogs with cats, for example) cannot travel on the same flight. The number of animals on board will be limited.
The pet carrier must be made of a resistant material, its base must be waterproof and must provide good ventilation so that the plane trip does not affect the health of the pet. Likewise, the appropriate size will be the one that allows the animal to stand and can turn around without problems.
